OUR STORY
Founded in 1985 by Scott Y. Whang, CōDRA began as a trading company, selling goods between South Korea and the United States. With a young, growing family, Scott wanted to establish roots and build a bright future, so he made the risky move many American dreamers have made and left a great job in order to create something better.
Scott resigned his long term position in global manufacturing—a job that had carried him all throughout Southeast Asia and the Middle East—and founded CōDRA Enterprises, Inc.
Scott founded CōDRA to be a committed, collaborative partner, forging it into the very DNA of the company. The result was an innovative, attentive company focused on professionalism and efficiency in our work in order to best serve our customers.
For 35 years, CōDRA has continued on a steady path of growth, adapting to meet our customer's needs. One of the most important shifts has been the transition to new president, Gary Kim, who has embodied the same DNA in the position since 2001. Over the years, he has navigated developing technologies, quality fluctuations, cultural and communication gaps, shifts in the industry, and many other challenges in order to guarantee CōDRA continues to be a leader in global manufacturing.
